A little help along the way

Your first conversation

A few minutes to make yourself at home.

1. Set your starting point

Choose your native language, the language you want to practise, your level and a few interests. Meet your tutors and choose the person you want to practise with. Your tutor’s individual English voice comes with them.

2. Pick a lesson or a moment

Learn follows a guided lesson path. Practice gives you roleplay scenes for everyday life, travel, work and more. Open a brief to see the goal and a few useful phrases, then start when you feel ready.

3. Speak, listen, try again

Hold the microphone to speak; release to send. Your tutor replies out loud when Spoken replies is enabled. Type instead if that suits the moment. Use Pause and Resume to take a break.

4. Take a next step

Finish your session to see a review, useful words and corrections. Scores are learning estimates. Pronunciation cannot be measured from conversation text alone.

5. Keep what you learn
