Privacy Policy

Summary

Speak365 is local-first: your profile, sessions, mistakes and progress are stored on your device, in the app’s own database. Signing in is optional — it turns on live AI tutoring and syncs your progress across your devices. Guest sessions use the on-device Demo Tutor. Signed-in progress syncs to Supabase; live AI requires your separate permission. We run no analytics or advertising.

Accounts and sync (optional)

If you sign in, we store your email address to identify your account. You can use email and password or an email code. Passwords and provider identities are managed by Supabase Auth; passwords are not stored in your learning database. Email codes verify account creation and password recovery. Your profile, sessions, messages, mistakes, vocabulary, lesson progress, streaks and practice results sync to your private cloud storage so your devices stay in step.

Cloud storage is provided by Supabase and is strictly per-account: only a session signed in as you can read or write your rows. The app’s server never stores your learning history — it only checks your sign-in and counts daily AI turns against an abuse limit.

Settings → Account → Delete account removes your Speak365 profile and synced learning data and resets this device to a fresh guest. A minimal deletion record and revoked session identifiers remain to prevent old devices from restoring deleted data. The sign-in identity is shared with other apps and is retained without deleting their accounts or data. Signing out also resets the device to a fresh guest; your cloud data stays safe and returns when you sign back in.

What we never do

We do not require an account: every screen works as a guest with the on-device Demo Tutor.

We do not include advertising, analytics or tracking of any kind. The app contains no third-party trackers.

After you allow Live AI, your conversation text passes through the Speak365 server to OpenRouter and Google Gemini for tutoring, corrections and reviews. Signed-in learning data also syncs to Supabase. See Speech recognition below for microphone processing.

Speech recognition and tutor voices

Tutor voices are generated on the device. The app does not send text to a third-party speech-generation API. Fictional AI tutor videos are pre-generated visual assets; they are not live human calls or real-time lip sync.

Practice uses your device microphone and the speech recognition built into iOS. Microphone recordings are not sent to OpenRouter or Google Gemini. Depending on language and device capabilities, Apple’s speech recognition may process audio on Apple’s servers; that processing is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not ours.

Live AI and the Demo Tutor

After you sign in and allow Live AI, your conversation text is sent through our server to OpenRouter and Google Gemini to generate replies, corrections and session reviews. The OpenRouter key lives only on the server — this device never sees or stores it — and the AI providers handle that content under their own terms and privacy policies. You can withdraw permission in Settings → AI connection.

When the server is unreachable, the app falls back to a scripted Demo Tutor that runs entirely on your device and never uses the network. You can check which mode is active anytime in Settings → AI connection.

Purchases

Speak365 Pro is purchased through the App Store. Payment, billing and subscription data are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; Speak365 receives purchase confirmation, product identifiers and subscription expiration information to unlock Pro; it does not receive your payment card details.

Deleting your data

Two independent copies can exist. Your device copy: everything the app stores on your phone — signing out resets it to a fresh guest, deleting your account wipes it, and deleting the app removes whatever remains. Your cloud copy (signed-in users only): Speak365 learning data is removed via Settings → Account → Delete account. Minimal deletion and session records prevent stale devices from restoring it. The shared sign-in identity and data belonging to other apps are preserved.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Speak365 Pro subscription — manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.

Conversation text sent for a live session is processed to generate your tutor’s replies and is not kept as a server-side copy of your history. Daily AI-turn counts are kept only as abuse-limit accounting and are erased with your account.

Children

Speak365 is not directed at children under 13. Guest sessions run on this device; accounts require an email address and are for users 13 and older.
